My News at Looooog Last ;)!

Hi my awesome friends and family :)!

Wow I started this blog over a month ago with the intent of keeping it up to date and look how good I have been at it haha but now I will try keep you as regularly updated as I can! Most of you may already know most of my news but I've written everything for those who don't and extra things for those who do, basically a bit of everything for everyone.

Ok here goes... At the moment I am living in Sidmouth, Devon, United Kingdom. I am working in a hotel by the sea. I am a housekeeper and a waitress. In the morning I do housekeeping (I clean the hotel rooms ;-) ) and then in the evening I transform in to a waitress (serving the guests a 4 course meal in the dining room) haha. And I have every afternoon off. I usually work a 5 and half day week but it depends if the hotel is full or not. I have been at the hotel since September last year. I came here knowing nothing about hotel work or anything. I had to learn from scratch. I also live in the hotel, I have my staff bedroom in the basement of the hotel and I get all meals on and off duty. Most of the the staff here actually live in. I really like it here and I am very settled in the Uk now it's HOME for me. I have wonderful friends on the staff and in Exeter :) and wonderful friends and family throughout the Uk! I have really been blessed!

Sidmouth has a beautiful coastline, there are loads of pictures of the hotel and of Sidmouth on my facebook, I always take pictures, it's like I have a camera always glued to my hand :)! The coast of Devon is actually one of the most beautiful coastlines in the Uk. And the temperature here is a lot milder than up north because we are on the South West coast. Out of all the areas I have lived in the Uk and I have lived in a lot of different areas, I love this one the most, I wouldn't move from here.

I worked right through from September - December last year (obviously with days off and things too haha) and in January we close for a month each year so all the staff get to go on holiday. On my holiday I went up north to London for a week to see friends and family there and then I flew to South Africa and Zimbabwe for 3 weeks to visit my family and friends that side of the world. I flew with Etihad Airways, they are brilliant and I'd highly recommend them. I hadn't been back in Africa for a year. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone again. And it was fantastic to have warm weather and see the sun again haha (even though I didn't get a tan lol). I went to Gold Reef City theme park (where there are lots of thrill rides)with my cousin Luke (when I was in SA) and we had a total blast and took loads of photos and funny videos while we were there, all of which are on facebook :-) - I took pics of my whole holiday which is all on facebook. Everything is always on facebook haha... It's a great way to share things.

It was great to go back to Zim and it was good to see it had improved greatly since I was there last in December 2009. The funny thing I found was they even had an APPLE ISTORE in Borrowdale Village haha... The businesses and restuarants seemed to be running well there now seeing as everything is in US$. It is still run down and there are still bad roads and power and water cuts but economically it had improved.

I loved seeing all my wonderful friends in Zim and SA and meeting new awesome people and I had a blast with them, a year was the longest time I had been away from home. Then when I flew back to England I had an extra week off because the hotel was quiet but it was good I got to see my wonderful friends in Exeter.

I have been working for about 2 weeks and a bit now since I have been back, I got back to the Uk on the 2nd of Feb, I had been in Africa since the 10th of Jan. I recently worked for 9 and a half days straight because the hotel was really busy but this week I have/had about 4 days and two half days off. I am also not working on Sun, Mon and Tues. It has been good to get back to work and be back here in the hotel to see my wonderful friends on the staff. I know people from a lot of different countries now and I have learnt a lot about other countries. I am actually trying to learn a bit of Slovak at the moment, I know a bit of the basics. I am also thinking about travelling Europe a bit sometime because it's really right on my doorstep and so cheap to do so and I haven't even been to Europe in the whole year I have been in the Uk. I first arrived in the Uk on the 31st of Jan 2010.

Well I am very HAPPY here and very settled and where I want to be at the moment. I am not sure what my future plans are yet but I will figure them out in good time. God has blessed me with so much, amazing people, a good job, a beautiful area to live in and every day is a new adventure.

Life is great right now, and every day is a blessing, every day something wonderful happens. Thank God.

I am going to keep my blog up to date. I did some housekeeping this morning and now I am not working until Saturday. Today I have been relaxing and watching movies and playing computer games (Sims 3 - it's awesome) and things and facebook, lets not forget facebook haha. In fact this whole week I worked Monday morning and this morning (Thursday 3rd of March 2011), and then I am working a full day on Sat so I have had loads of time off. On Tuesday I went to Exeter with a friend from the hotel and we had a great day there.

I always love to hear everyone's news, literally everyone it doesn't matter if I haven't heard from you in 10 years or if you don't know me very well, so anytime you can or would like to send me your news, facebook me or email me or skype me or blackberry message me, haha so many ways to keep in touch these days :-)!

Love you all so much and I hope you are all happy :-)!
